I wonder why? Please comment on this position, I would very much like to know your opinion. > Normal system administrators do not use combines. Makes it a lot easier to go through configs, at least in my opinion.
#Securecrt vs mobaxterm password
Gives all the usual stuff (tabs, logging, ssh/rdp/scp/., automatically go through ssh jump server, password manager, built in tools.) but I also really like the colorized text for Cisco. I need a combine that will provide all the functions in one person.īut at the same time, I found this opinion on the Toaster: Tried various tools and pretty happy about it. I am not looking for a unidirectional tool. One gets the impression that the project will close soon.Ĭomrades, the above opinion about the products does not pretend to be an objective answer.I understand that each product has its own advantage, its purpose and subtleties of customization. MobaXterm - it seems that everything is there, but it doesn’t look serious.

SecureCRT is roughly the same as XShell, with its own peculiarities. Fast, nimble, does its job, but no more (there is no RDP, and if there was, I bought 2 licenses at once). RoyalTS - slightly better than RDM in terms of interface speed, but in general the same brake.

MRemoteNG - I used it for a long time, I remember it as rather primitive. Essentially: lethargy is the most annoying.

Even the SSH tunnel falls off if I start using the socks5 proxy through the browser (I tried both the portable and standalone versions, it did not help, there is generally a muddy error judging by the logs and has no answer in Google). The file manager for SCP is one-sided, you can simply select the file you want to download, but where it is not specified, by default it seems to be thrown into the home folder, in general it is inconvenient or I misunderstood something. The interface is loaded in blocks, pop-ups are rendered with a delay, even typing in the terminal (SSH) slows down as if I were using a VPN located somewhere in the USA (through Putty everything is fine, I checked it). Remote Desktop Manager - a lot of functionality, connection methods including all sorts of Xen, vSphere, etc., but hard to the point, slows down almost everything (and this is on i7-6700, 16gb ram, ssd samsung evo). Now I will briefly go over the above products: Convenient, two-pane file manager for SCP / SFTP (or like MobaXterm) Ability to create an SSH tunnel and raise a local SOCKS5 proxy Support for SSH keys for authorization: Ability to autosave SSH output to a separate file (log) Availability of helper network tools or cygwin (ping / nslookup / traceroute / bash) Storing the entire database in one file (like KeePass for example) Support for major protocols SSH, RDP, SFTP, SCP (support for the rest will be a plus)

Nimble, responsive interface, without unnecessary zhora RAM In fact, I'm looking for a manager with the following matches: As a result, something in one product does not suit, then in another something is wrong. Tried all of the above products, superficially, but nonetheless. The essence of the question is as follows: If not change it to that directory so that you get your sessions back into SecureCRT.ĥ) now you can import the SCRT sessions into MobaXterm as yourself explained above.Good day. It will ask where the appdata should be stored and (probably) suggest the where you stored the copied ones. The sessions are actually stored in the latter directory.Ģ) Copy the zipped files onto target machineģ) Unzip and extract them as Administrator into the same locations on the target machine (for me "C:\Program Files (x86)\" and ""C:\Users\id084265\AppData\Roaming\" respectively)Ĥ) Run at least ones the securecCRT on the target machine.

MobaXterm is a terminal for Windows operating system, a X Window System with X11 server.

I found a workaround to (somehow) import sessions from SecureCRT (Version 7.1.1 (build 264)) into MobaXterm but this probably will not help you if even temporarily able to install SecureCRT:ġ) on the source machine where SecureCRT is running zip the complete install directory of VanDyke (for me it was: "C:\Program Files (x86)\VanDyke Software") and appdata directory (for me it was: "C:\Users\id084265\AppData\Roaming\VanDyke"). Competitors, similar software and programs like SecureCRT. Apparently MobaXterm imports SecureCRT sessions only if there is a SecureCRT also installed on the same Windows machine.
